Travel Documents for F-1 Students

Before an international student boards the plane form their home country they should make sure they are carrying certain documents. Some documents, such as the passport, will need to be presented when they check in at the airport.

All of the document listed below will be needed when they go through customs upon arriving in the Untied States.

Students should not pack these documents in their checked bagged.  Instead, keep them with you in your carry-on bag. Students should also make their travel arraignments carefully to ensure they do not arrive in the United States more than 30 days before the start date listed on their Form I-20. Otherwise, they can be refused entry.
